Welcome to The Shiniest, Finalist Newell Year 2026! Nixon Newell expects 2026 will be her last year as an in-ring competitor, her final match more than likely in December. It’s poetic the start of the end of her in ring journey would be in such humble, homely confines as her Welsh beginnings. February 21, 2026. Evolution Lucha Libre: Revenge. Evolution Dojo. Houston, Texas. Nixon’s girlfriend and tag team partner Miranda Alize had been dealing with Jazmin Allure for months. Allure’s ire rose after Alize defeated her in January at the event celebrating the one year anniversary of Miranda’s promotion Evolution Lucha Libre.
Revenge kicked off with Title Match Ladies’ Night Out Champion & Hurricane Pro Women’s Champion Jazmin Allure hitting the ring to spew falsities about Alize who came out to kick her ass. Kalientita attacked Alize from behind, joining Allure in a beatdown of Miranda. Nixon hurried out to fight side by side with Miranda. Of course, you know what that means… a Tag Team Match, playa. It would happen later on that night.
Allure and Kalientita are rising stars on the independent scene. They have actually only been rivals, having even battled each other for Evolution Lucha Libre. But to try and make a bigger name for themselves, it’s hardly a surprise they’d join forces against two notable pro wrestlers. Speaking of joining forces, Newell & Alize now have a tag team name: Violent Romance. And it was a violent start to the tag team match, with all four brawling at ringside. A couple fans even became weapons, which you can check out in the GIFS.
Once the competitors hit the ring, the bell sounded and the match officially started. Newell & Alize showcased plenty of teamwork, while Allure and Kalientita used countless underhanded tactics. Perhaps the most cruel of all, Kalientita smashed her buttocks in Nixon’s face with Alize forced to watch. One simply does not rub their buttocks in the face of someone smack dab in front of their romantic partner. Nope. That’s uncool. Make Good Choices, to quote the legendary Josiah Williams. Kalientita did not.
After getting beat down for a time, Newell finally made that ole desperate hot tag to Miranda after hellbutting both the opponents. Alize wasted no time, delivering a nasty ripcord knee strike and Go-to-Knee combo to Allure. 1-2-Nope with Kalientita making the last moment save for her team. Chaos erupted! Newell got taken out. The referee, too. Allure smashed Miranda’s head with one of Jazmin’s two championships to knock her out cold, scoring her team a pinfall victory over two notable names in pro wrestling.
NOTE: There was a celebration for Miranda Alize after the match. I think it was in regard to her getting a WWE Tryout earlier that week. But the audio wasn’t clear (or my aging ears suck) In the video so I need to double check.
Violent Romance must quickly put this loss behind them because on February 28, 2026 they will compete for Hurricane Pro Wrestling. It will be a first round match in a tournament to crown the next Hurricane Pro Tag Team Champions. Can Nixon Newell finally win her first championship gold since April 30, 2017? Time will tell as The Shiniest, Finalist Newell Year 2026 rolls on.
