July 13, 2025. Art Sanctuary Louisville. Louisville, Kentucky. BPW Goldmine. It was a huge weekend across the pro wrestling world. Nixon Newell was not without action, making her debut for BullPen Wrestling, challenger to Hooligan Championship Wrestling Women’s World Champion Airica Demia. The Girl That Goes Beyond. The Queen Of BOP Style. Going by her gear and hair, I’ll add The Green Girl to her exasperating list of nicknames. I’m unfamiliar with her work, but am told this Airica is an up-and-comer to keep your eyes on.
Demia planned to start off the fight with showboating… front rolling right into Nixon’s shotgun dropkick. That will teach her! Since Nixon was doing this on HER time, she decided to take a respite after Airica’s early comeback spurt. But it was no mere rest, for Nixon was using a veteran tactic, luring Demia over to the ropes for a jawbreaker. Newell followed that up, slipping between the top and middle rope to snipe Airica with a basement dropkick.
Nixon kept control for a time, including Cannonboar. Airica had another spurt of comeback, striking Newell with Eat Defeat followed by a nasty kick to the head in the corner. As Demia was about to strike a finishing blow, Nixon pulled the referee out of the way because Airica would have surely, accidently struck her. Demia was too busy protesting her innocence, so Nixon smashed her into a cover with a charging uppercut. The ungrateful referee counted slow, Demia kicking out. So much for Nixon risking a disqualification to protect the official.
It was time for a second Cannonboar. But as was the case in Nixon’s previous two matches, her opponent saw it coming, evading it. Nixon struck back with a throat thrust, sit-out gourdbuster and charging PK. Nixon made a cover, but again a questionable count by the official kept Demia in the fight. Unfortunately, Nixon rightfully protesting the awful officiating backfired, opening the window for Demia to maul her off with a succession of brutal blows to the head, lastly her finisher Backfist to the Future.
The Green Girl covered Newell for the 1-2-3. And still HCW Women’s World Champion, Airica Demia. I will say, Airica put up a good fight. Some will say she fairly earned this retention. But I must point out as a close observer, Airica had green gear and green hair, all the while there was a green thing hanging from the ceiling. Those finishing blows looked otherworldly. Make of that what you will.
