On the opposing side, the five others wrestlers who lost their qualifying matches for entry into the Ladder Match to decide the #1 Contender for the NXT Women's Championship. It was a Second Chance Gauntlet Match in which the winner secured the prestige sixth, final spot. A green-haired troll doll named Shotzi Blackheart had been making waves since debuting in NXT at the end of 2019. She entered the match first, fighting valiantly to defeat four opponents.

Deonna Purrazzo. Xia Li. Aliyah. Kayden Carter. A hard-fought run that earned Shotzi a lot of respect. But to be fair, none of those competitors were Dakota Kai. Nor did they have six foot amazon Raquel Gonzalez there for the ole moral support. Now to be fair, Raquel did run some interference. But it was Dakota who won this one on her own. Shotzi pushed Raquel off during said interference. Kai struck her with a Kaio-Kick as she tried to re-enter the ring, followed by Go to Kick. 1-2-3. Your Captain was now the final entrant in the #1 Contender Ladder Match.
