October 3rd 2022. WWE Monday Night RAW. Dakota Kai will once again step into the ring against Candice LeRae who made her surprise return to WWE last week on Monday Night RAW. Friends. Enemies. Allies. Rivals. Our Captain and The Poison Pixie have quite a history dating back to 2015 when they participated in a Rumble match for the Shimmer Championship #1 Contendership at Shimmer Volume 76.

They would eventually both sign with WWE where they traveled the road together as friends alongside Tegan Nox (Nixon Newell) and Kairi Sane. Candice and Dakota would often team up at NXT House Shows in 2018, stacking up a series of wins. In November 2019, feeling rejected by her friends including Candice would send Dakota down a darker path. Dakota's violent attack on Nox whom Candice considered her little sister would enrage her.

Candice would be Dakota's first singles match opponent following Kai's heel turn. LeRae would win that hard-hitting banger on the November 27th 2019 episode of NXT by disqualification. They would continue to do battle in a series of tag team clashes at NXT House Shows including one where Kai teamed up with rivals Jessamyn Duke & Marina Shafir.

Dakota would come out the winner in their next televised match on the February 12th 2020 episode of NXT, countering the Gargano escape into a successful pin. Not long after, they would cross paths during a six woman Ladder Match on the April 8th 2020 episode of NXT to determine the #1 Contender for the NXT Women's Title.

In Spring 2020, Candice would find herself traveling down a darker path of her own. Dakota and Candice would cross paths again, teaming up with Raquel Gonzalez at NXT TakeOver: In Your House losing to the team of Mia Yim, Tegan Nox and Shotzi. On the July 29th 2020 episode of NXT, Kai and LeRae teamed up to face NXT Women's Champion Io Shirai and Tegan Nox. Kai would ultimately abandon Candice to their opponents.

There were no long-term hard feelings between Dakota and Candice for that since LeRae was most welcoming to have Kai join her WarGames 2020 team later in the year. Team Poison Pixie would come out victorious, however both Dakota and Candice fighting their hearts out would be overshadowed to NXT officials by Raquel Gonzalez scoring the pinfall victory for the team.

Following WarGames 2020, the paths of Kai and LeRae had not intertwined until they came face to face on the September 26th 2022 episode of RAW. Kai's now a member of the faction Damage CTRL alongside Bayley and IYO SKY. Candice showed loyalty to their rivals, even getting in Bayley's face. Bayley's focused on the RAW Women's Title Ladder Match this weekend, so Dakota stepped forward happy to remind Candice why she's The Captain of Team F'N Kick.

Friends. Enemies. Allies. Rivals. Who knows where their relationship will wind up in the future. But on October 3rd 2022 we know they are rivals who will reignite a rivalry.
