Candice LeRae told Pawdme Gargano the tale of a dragon who betrayed a fairy and the evil witch who ran away with the gem. There was such a venom in her tone of voice when she did. Of course, the dragon was Tegan Nox and the fairy was her. If you recall, Candice claimed that if Nox had not taken her out during a tag team match the previous month, she would have pinned NXT Women's Champion Io Shirai and became number one contender. The warped Candice demanded that the "annoyance" Nox should mind her own damn business and not the Gargano's.

One week later on the August 19th 2020 episode of NXT, Nox would respond to Candice's scathing comments. What Candice said hurt Nox but didn't surprise her considering the warped place Candice had been in since April. Nox had been friends with Candice since 2015 and their friendship meant the world to her. That friendship has been chronicled on this site in various Nixon Newell and Tegan Nox entries.

Since she's the one whose always accused of causing a rift in friendships, Nox took it as her responsibility to try and repair her's with Candice. She was upset Candice saw their friendship as an annoyance but kept hope they could still repair it -- over a bottle of wine like the old times instead of with a battle in the ring.

On the September 1st 2020 episode of NXT, Nox spoke about her friendship and sisterhood with Candice during a video package. Nox blamed "The Gargano Way" for poisoning Candice's mind. This wasn't the same Candice who took her to her surgery or that she introduced to her nephew. It hurt Nox to hear Candice say that the only way they could keep a friendship was if Tegan did things The Gargano Way and if not she needed to just stay out of Candice's way.

Candice was her big sister and Nox would do whatever it took to repair their relationship. Nox had already lost one sister in Dakota and was not ready to exist in a world where she would lose another. She still hoped they could sit down and hash things out over that bottle of wine.

That same evening, Candice had defeated Kacy Catanzaro whose friend Kayden Carter was present at ringside. Seeing the warmth and affection between them took its toll on even the warped Poison Pixie. Candice announced she wanted to reconcile with Tegan. The audience of their peers appeared split on if Candice's words were genuine. In a week's time everyone would know if they were or weren't as Tegan Nox was invited to A Dinner at The Garganos.
