January 26, 2020. Minute Maid Park. Houston, Texas. WWE Royal Rumble 2020. The countdown came to zero. The buzzer went off. Number 28 in the 30 Women Royal Rumble match made her long jog to the ring. It was Tegan Nox. The Girl With the Shiniest Wizard was part of the NXT contingent participating in the match. She came in a Welsh Dragon breathing fire. Clothelines to Toni Storm and Zelina Vega. Cannonboar to WWE Hall of Famer "The Glamazon" Beth Phoenix. A chokeslam caught Vega. The running uppercut in the corner to Storm and Phoenix.

Tegan's momentum would come to a crashing end courtesy of a Glam Slam from Phoenix. After recovering on the canvas for a bit, Nox found herself fighting off an elimination by The Glamazon and Xia Li. Entrant 30 would arrive and it would be Shayna Baszler whom Nox had unfinished business with. Unfortunately, Baszler put that to a swift halt smacking any chance of a Nox comeback with a murder knee strike before eliminating her over the top rope with a gutwrench suplex.

It might not have been a long night for Nox but it was a memorable one. The Royal Rumble has always held a special place in Steffanie Newell's heart because it was the one wrestling event she always watched Live with her grandfather. As a participant, she got to unleash some offense against one of her heroes Beth Phoenix. She even got featured on a behind the scenes video filmed for the WWE Performance Center Youtube Channel. Not too bad for a Rumble debut.
