December 4, 2023. Albany, New York. MVP Arena. Monday Night RAW. Tegan Nox and Natalya looked to fight their way back into tag team championship contention when they faced Katana Chance and Kayden Carter. Nox has pleasant history with the KC Express, having teamed with both at different times during their NXT days. In recent times, the Express were supportive of Tegan so one would hope for a sporting tag team contest. Two individuals who aren't supportive are the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Chelsea Green and Piper Niven.

Chelsea Green and Piper Niven couldn't resist rubbing salt in the wound, taunting Tegan and Natalya whom they successfully defended the titles against one week prior. Chelsea said Niven and her were going to leave the building until they heard Nox and Natalya had a match. Chelsea poked fun at Nox and Natalya persisting as a tag team, accusing Natalya of using Nox as her meal ticket but that it's not working and nobody is buying it. Natalya had to hold the fiery Tegan back from giving Chelsea another SMACK after Green told Natalya to move on.

Natalya vowed Nox and her would defeat the KC Express and win the tag team titles from Green and Niven. That wasn't looking the case in the early going as Chance and Carter used their quickness and athleticism to control the match. Nox turned the tide when she tagged in, exploding against Carter with a running uppercut and two clotheslines. A nasty roundkick to the back of Nox's head gave control to Carter who quickly lost it after Tegan evaded a corner splash.

Tegan struck Carter down with a running uppercut in the corner. But unbeknownst to Tegan, Chance blind tagged in. Nox smashed Carter with cannonboar and set her up for a pin with the Molly-Go-Round but Chance was the legal woman so it was for naught. Natalya rallied the crowd with a Tegan chant, giving Nox enough momentum to make a tag. Chance ducked the discus clothesline, taking Natalya down with a codebreaker. Carter tagged in. Natalya fought off a double superplex, turning into a one woman tower of doom powerbomber.

Natalya covered Carter who kicked out. Carter took back control with a superkick. Chance tagged in and climbed to the top rope. In a spectacular show of athleticism, Carter assisted Chance onto her shoulders in handstand position then twisted around, moonsaulting her partner down on Natalya. Carter superkicked Nox to prevent her from making a save, allowing Chance to pin Natalya to score the KC Express a victory.

The loss to the KC Express might have temporarily derailed Tegan and Natalya from getting another shot at the tag team titles. But they're still in the hunt. That was made clear when a camera caught them watching the monitor backstage as the new #1 contenders the KC Express picked up a win over Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell during the December 11, 2023 episode of Monday Night RAW. On the December 18, 2023 episode of Monday Night RAW, The KC Express defeated Chelsea Green & Piper Niven to win the tag team titles.

Katana and Kayden were greeted backstage by Candice & Indi, Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark and Tegan Nox & Natalya. The champs took their leave to party with Candice and Indi, snubbing the rest of their fellow competitors of an early holiday celebration. Natalya and Shayna posed the idea of their respective teams fighting it out to become the new #1 contenders. An ominous clasp of thunder was Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn reminding everyone they are looming. Asuka & Kairi Sane of Damage CTRL made it clear recently on SmackDown they too are in the tag titles hunt.

If Alba and Isla cross paths with Tegan and Natalya, another chapter in the long-standing rivalry between Alba and Tegan will happen. That in itself has gotten this Chronicler excited for the new year. But first Tegan and Natalya will jockey for contendership positioning when they face Shayna & Zoey in a tag team match on the Day 1 episode of Monday Night RAW on January 1, 2024. The Year 2023 was quite a journey for Tegan Nox. We now all await what The Year 2024 will bring The Welsh Dragon.
