November 13, 2023. Washington, DC. Capital One Arena. Monday Night RAW. Tegan Nox is eager to fulfill her promise to smack Chelsea Green in the jaw. She might finally get that chance if she can defeat Green's WWE Women's Tag Team Championship partner Piper Niven. This is their first match in WWE, however years ago they battled six times across various promotions with Nox winning four of those matches. Niven and Nox even had an Undertaker versus Kane homage match. That's another entry for someday over at The Nixon Newell Story.
Nox was accompanied by Natalya who has actually proven to be a trustworthy ally this time around. The bell rang and Nox went all 205 Live Drew Gulak hitting Niven with a shotgun dropkick out of nowhere. An uppercut followed by a rope assisted gamengiri crumpled Niven into the corner. Nox delivered some cannonboar but Niven quickly kicked out. Tegan came at Niven who dropped her to the apron. Tegan hung on only to get met with a headbutt. Niven suplexed Nox back into the ring, followed by a running senton and big splash to the arm.
Tegan fought out of a chinlock and punched away only for her comeback to get halted by a short arm clothesline. Niven caught Nox off a charging crossbody and brought her down with a Shango shoulderbreaker. Piper went for an Undertaker style pin, even sticking her tongue out. A homage to that past match they had? Fortunately, Nox kicked out and didn't suffer a vomit curse. Tegan mounted a comeback, smashing Niven in the head with a running PK. That bigmouth Chelsea Green did the distraction thing, giving Niven a chance to canvas Nox with a clothesline.
Natalya got up on the apron and forearmed Chelsea to the floor. Niven shoulder tackled Natalya off the apron. Piper turned around, charging toward the canvassed Nox, intent on crushing her with a big splash. Nox moved. The Shiniest Wizard struck Niven down but she got her foot up on the rope to avoid getting pinned. Tegan was in a vulture culture frame of mind, however Piper turned said destroyer into a backdrop that Nox turned into a sunset flip. Niven dropped down on Nox who pulled Piper into a crucifix pin for the three count and victory.
A video package prior to the match saw Tegan discuss how the past year has been the craziest of her life. For a time she was defined by injuries. Those days have been put behind her though as she's not only faced some of the best since her return, she's proven she can hang with them in the ring. It's been an impressive list of top notch opponents too, including such names she never faced in her first WWE run like Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria. Now, with her victory over Piper she's defeated both of the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions in singles matches.
On RAW Talk, Tegan was asked about her recent success against Piper. Natalya interrupted to claim Nox and her are each other's good luck charms, and as the most winning woman in WWE history, she likes the sound of Tegan and her becoming the most winning tag team and wonders if Nox could see them becoming tag champs. Nox replied there's gold at the end of the rainbow and her rainbow hair comes down to her waist where gold fits. Both clearly want some tag team gold in the future. For now though, they were off to celebrate Nox's win with some title tacos.
