June 28, 2025. Beaumont, Texas. MCM Elegante Grand Ballroom. Hurricane Pro Wrestling. It had been over a month since that dark turn of events in Wales. Nixon Newell was back stateside, doing a media tour to remind the world she was going to knock down doors and make moments. Her first match in the United States since June 7, 2024 would be against “The Lucha Baddie” Miranda Alize.

Alize is a ten year pro who has welcomed a fight from anyone, countless top names amongst them. Roxanne Perez, Athena, Billie Starkz, Deonna Purrazzo, Chris Bey, Mr. Iguana, the legendary Awesome Kong, Rhea Ripley and the original pain in the ass Chelsea Green… just to name a few. All tough opponents. But she’s never faced a Welsh Dragon. Like Nixon, The Lucha Baddie finishes off her opponents with a shining wizard. Miranda also happens to be Nixon Newell’s girlfriend.

The Hurricane Pro faithful gave Nixon a heroes ovation. Hurricane regular Alize received the same. Nixon’s was a touching louder. The bell rang. In the early going, it was a class in canvas mastery. Until Miranda bit Nixon’s fingers. Followed by a nasty kick to the abdomen that cracked like a whip. Another brutal kick. Nixon rolled to the floor, pain stinging up from her waist to her head. Miranda gave her a few seconds then tossed her back into the ring.

Alize worked Nixon over with a series of arm drags followed by a headscissors into a facebuster. Nixon reversed an Irish whip, dropping down so Miranda tripped over her. Alize kicked out of a rollup only to get smacked silly by a basement kick. The commentary brought up Nixon’s days as a member of Team Kick – whose other member I might remind you is a free agent in under 30 days as of this writing. Nixon hit a charging uppercut. A snapmare followed by a double stomp. Alize crawled up to a superkick from Nixon. Kickout.

Nixon pushed Alize’s leg away, caressing her abdomen as the pain only got worse as the match rolled on. Alize grasped control for a mere moment but Nixon took it back, smashing her with another charging uppercut. Nixon followed Miranda to the floor, positioning Alize against the steel barricade for a nasty chop. Alize fired back with one of her own. Nixon reversed an Irish whip, smashing Alize against the barricade. Alize got tossed back into the ring and covered, kicking out quickly at one.

The irritated Newell brushed Alize across the back of her head with a feint push followed by a feint kick to the same spot. Another feint push, this time with both hands, to the back of Alize’s head. Alize fired back with three shots to the abdomen followed by a trifecta of headbutts. Miranda hit the ropes with a whip, bouncing back smack into a mauling clothesline from Nixon. Miranda kicked out. Nixon was frustrated, the darker side of The Welsh Dragon emerging as she boot choked Alize in the corner after a turnbuckle smash. Hey, Miranda started it with the biting.

Nixon applied a front facelock. Alize fought to her feet, breaking free with a stunner. Alize whipped off the ropes again, this time caught with a bridging fallaway slam for two. Miranda rolled to the apron, ramming her shoulder into Newell on a charge. Alize shot herself back into the ring through the ropes, Newell going face first to the canvas from a basement headscissors. Both women were down, slowly making their way back to their feet breaking the ten count. Blows were traded. Alize tried the whip again, this time cut off right at the ropes with an uppercut, staggering her to the corner for a gamengiri. Cannonboar! Nixon tried for another but Alize rolled out of the way, Newell’s abdomen smashed hard.

Newell staggered to her feet, uppercut into the corner by Alize. Nixon was swept on her bottom, prone in the corner to Miranda’s running facewash. Alize lifted Newell up halfway in suplex position then flipped her around, dropping her with a powerbomb. Miranda went for a cover. Nixon kicked out one final, valiant time but with that her abdomen could take no more. Miranda went to the corner, pointed at Nixon to signal the end. Alize charged with intent, slicing Nixon to the canvas with a shining wizard. 1-2-3. The Winner is Miranda Alize.

So, Nixon Newell versus Miranda Alize was a first for this Chronicler. I can’t ever recall chronicling two lovers battling each other in a pro wrestling match. At least when it wasn’t, what people called: Presumably. Out of love and respect, Nixon and Miranda clearly expected each other to hold nothing back, resulting in a brutal, competitive match. A hard-earned win for Miranda Alize. An epic fight though unfortunate loss for Nixon Newell, but at least she’ll be able to drown her sorrows in Alizé.
