October 25, 2025. Boeing Center at Tech Port. San Antonio, Texas. AEW Collision. All Elite Wrestling (AEW) recently announced Women’s Tag Team Titles. A tournament to crown the inaugural champions begins on AEW Dynamite October 29, 2025. Eight tag teams will complete including Tay Melo & Anna Jay, collectively known as TayJay. But there is one tandem who wasn’t invited to compete. This tandem aren’t just a tag team, they are a couple! Since AEW was in their neck of the woods, why not stop by for a visit?
That tandem, of course Miranda Alize & Nixon Newell, confronted TayJay during a backstage interview. Nixon specifically greeted Tay, after all they trained together and shared the ring as opponents in the past. As Nixon noted she was The Girl with The Shiniest Wizard, she looked directly at Tay who felt it on some occasions, once even televised. Tay eyed her back knowingly.
Nixon and Miranda stated truth when they noted they are two of the best wrestlers on the independent circuit, and because they are an incredible team in and out of the ring, they paid a visit to AEW where the best wrestle. Tay agreed AEW is where the best wrestle but accused Nixon & Miranda of being a little bit rude! Melo had audacity, accusing Nixon of being rude for two reasons.
The first of these reasons is Nixon apologized for interrupting TayJay upon Miranda and her entering stage. If you apologize, it’s not rudeness. Secondly, Nixon and the other whose tale I chronicle had a part in molding Tay into the wrestler she is today. Tay should show Nixon gratitude. In some circles, disrespecting your mentor gets you slapped! Tay got off without even a slap on the wrist. TayJay said they don’t like rude people (so they shouldn’t like themselves!) but do like a challenge, setting up a future Nixon Newell & Miranda Alize vs. TayJay tag team match.
As Miranda and Nixon took off, Newell had some fun, “shaking scared” of the “threat” of TayJay. Miranda had a good-natured laugh. Hey, they were just trying to lighten the mood after TayJay made an ugly accusation, bringing the exact rudeness they accused Nixon and Miranda of. As for Nixon, she had other business to attend to on this night…well, technically a few nights later. That will be chronicled in the next entry.
