Nixon Newell vs. Abadon Content

October 25, 2025. Irving, Texas. Southern Junction. Metroplex Wrestling Presents: Who Runs the World? 2. Nixon Newell’s aggression had been building for months. Hate from trolls had been devoured like a steak dinner, filling Nixon’s soul with rage that drove her forward. Nixon is no longer waiting for opportunities, she’s taking them. Her thirst to have championship gold for the first time since April 30, 2017 needed to be quenched. The issues between MPX Women’s World Champion Abadon and Nixon weren’t personal, The Living Dead Girl just happened to be in Nixon’s way of winning long-eluded gold.

Abadon calls Hell their home. Nixon would have to descend to the bottomless pit to engage in battle with The Living Dead Girl… metaphorically speaking. Any battle with the sadistic Abadon is like fighting ones way out of a circle of Hell. One would assume… this Chronicler hasn't been. Anyway…

Nixon was in no mood for pleasantries, graciously holding up a fans’ We Love Nixon Newell sign then rightfully ripping it apart. Firstly, it was a poorly made, effortless sign. Secondly, in spite of that fact, Nixon was gracious enough to hold it up for a few seconds before putting it out of its misery. Lastly, that “fan” wore a shirt advertising a show from the place that cut Nixon twice. Fan what you want, but have some respect and don’t do it in front of Nixon. That “fan” should have purchased a Nixon shirt or few on PW Tees and The Evolution Store.

Newell vs. Abadon was the main event, closing MPX's second all-women's event. At the sound of the bell, Nixon struck Abadon into the corner with a charging uppercut like a knife followed by Cannonboar. Abadon rolled to the floor, then was literally floored by Nixon’s tumbleweed off the apron. Nixon positioned Abadon against the guard rail and smacked them with an open hand to the chest. It was after this moment, commentator Veda Scott said Nixon is being an asshole these days. That’s a lie, spewed by Veda because their still bitter about Nixon kicking their ass in SHIMMER back in 2016. Nixon is focusing on herself for a change, which is called self-love and actually a very healthy thing to do.

On the floor, Abadon smacked Nixon with a barrage of double chops followed by a snap suplex and… biting! I’d say disqualify Abadon but then Nixon wouldn’t win the title, so if Nixon decides to do anything unsavory, I’d say it’s now fair game. Nixon snatched control back, spiking Abadon to the floor with a DDT. Abadon creeped up onto a chair. Nixon charged for a running dropkick but Abadon moved, then hit Newell with a running knee strike. Veda frighteningly recalled that time they got struck by Nixon’s running dropkick LOL!.

Back in the ring, Nixon blocked Abadon’s roll of the dice signature Red Soil with a cracking headbutt to the chest, the impact so hard it momentarily staggered Newell herself. As soon as she came to her senses, Nixon unleashed Hell on Abadon with strikes-a-plenty. Nixon blew a kiss and charged at Abadon for a running facewash, but instead hip smashed the side of Abadon's skull. There were back and forth strikes until Nixon caught Abadon with a chokeslam. Abadon sat right back up only for Nixon to swiftly squash their theatrics with a charging PK to the chest.

Newell punished Abadon with a snap suplex, strikes and nasty uppercut. Nixon made what commentary called arrogant pinfall attempts, but that’s actually called Nixon knowing she won’t get the pin yet making Abadon wear themself out by kicking out. Veteran instinct! Another, even nastier PK to the back. Nixon teased another PK, only to apply a headlock much to the crowd’s disapproval. Hey, most of them had sided with Abadon so why expend energy for those ingrates? Besides, they paid for wrestling and they got a wrestling hold!

Abadon got a burst of adrenaline, canvassing Nixon with the Black Hole Slam. Nixon and Abadon exchanged nasty blows: Strikes, slaps and big boots. Both felt pain. Yet, Nixon’s clotheslines wouldn’t even stagger Abadon. Nixon got cut to the canvas by Abadon’s cutter but kicked out of a pinfall attempt at two. Newell blocked a back suplex with a sit out gourdbuster, going for the cover but Abadon kicked out at two.

Nixon charged Abadon, caught with a sit-out powerbomb. Newell violently kicked Abadon off at two, rolling over straight into executing a Shiniest Wizard that smacked Abadon silly. That was it. Nixon’s descent into Hell was about to end with championship gold. At least that is how this should have ended… instead, Abadon grabbed the bottom rope to barely save themself. If that referee had focused on counting to three instead of looking away from the pin… Nixon would have been And New MPX Women’s World Champion.

Newell furiously kicked away at Abadon, not breaking a single rule mind you. So of course, that imbecilic referee blatantly stood in Nixon’s way, literally opening the door for Abadon to grasp Newell into Red Soil and retain the MPX Women’s World Championship by pinfall. The referee tried to cover their blatant bias favoring Abadon by not fast counting, but those of us who know, know and we know Nixon Newell was screwed over.
